Buyer's Information
Before working with a Licensed Real Estate agent you
should familiarize yourself with some of the documents that you may
be asked to complete and sign. The state of South Carolina has for
years followed a rule of law that "protects the public”.
This
means that a South Carolina Licensed Real Estate Agent is required
to explain relevant South Carolina Real Estate Regulations to your
satisfaction and then ask you to acknowledge in writing that you
have received certain documents. This should be welcomed. In fact
you should wonder about an agent who "does not" inform you. This
process not only establishes how you and your agent will work
together, but it protects both of you as the purchase process moves
forward.
These links provide the documents and in some cases
explanations from the State of South Carolina on how and when they
should be used. Take the time now to familiarize yourself with this
material. Doing so, will allow you to be on the same page as your
agent of choice, and to establish a mutually beneficial long term
business relationship from the outset.
